JOHN HUMMELL PASSES For Nearly Three Years Mrs. John Hummel Has Been An Invalid, Death Came Saturday For nearly three years Mrs. John Hummel has been a sufferer from Paralysis. Many times the end was thought to be near but the Death angel has passed by until last Sunday when she went home. She was beloved by many and the best of care has been given her during her illness. The funeral was held at the Congregational church Wednesday, Rev. Lash, the pastor preaching the sermon. OBITUARY Catherine Price was born in Seneca County, Ohio, Feb. 11, 1852 and departed this life at her home in Lake Odessa Jan. 1, 1922. In 1870 she was united in marriage to John Hummel. Mrs. Hummel has been an invalid for over two years and has borne her suffering patiently, always looking forward to some relief which never came. Memories of her cheerful disposition and helping hand in time of need will always live with those who knew her best. She united with the Congregational church several years ago. Mrs. Hummel is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Catherine Rosgel of Grand Rapids, Rollie of St. Joseph and Mrs. Lottie Bouche of Lake Odessa, and one grand child. Our Sister has gone to that "haven of rest," Of which she did sing, yes oe'r and oe'r to meet her dear Savior and all of the blest, Safe at home on the evergreen shore. She yielded herself to her Savior and Lord As she patiently heard His sweet voice And how she did hunger for more of His word In which her glad heart did rejoice. She longed to be healed that thus she might tell Of Jesus' compassion and love But better "far better He took her to dwell In that beautiful haven above And while she so patiently sat at his feet Like Mary of old with her Lord, His will became clearer, more precious, more sweet, While feasting upon his pure word. Come enter the haven of rest above, Come child that sufferings are o'er: Let other now tell the sweet message of love Come thou and walk the golden shore. _______________________________________ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our neighbors and friends for the sympathy shown us in our late bereavement; to Rev.
