           CHARLES R. HUMMEL PASSES AWAY MAR. 30

                                      -----------

   Charles Hummel, a brother of Mere, John, Fred and Anna Hummel and Mrs. Ella Cave
of this place died 
March 30.  He was a resident of Lake Odessa many years.

   The funeral was held Tuesday at the home, Rev. M. H. Dawson preached and Mrs.
Bert Mourer sang.  Burial 
was in Lakeside.

                                     OBITUARY

                                    

   Charles R. Hummel was born in Seneca county Ohio, November 27, 1870 and passed
away at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Loretta Thomas in Jackson, Michigan, March 30, 1929, aged 58
years, 4 months and 3 
days.

   On March 8 1897 he was united in marriage with Alvira M. Eldridge and to this
union were born two 
daughters, Lydia and Loretta.  His wife preceded him in death August 18, 1925.

   He leaves to mourn their loss the two daughters, Mrs. Lydia VanTassel of Lake
Odessa and Mrs. Loretta 
Thomas of Jackson, four brothers, James of Nashville and Merle, John and Fred of
this place, two sisters, 
Anna Hummel and Ella Cave, also of this place, besides three grandchildren.

  There is a world above

     Where parting is unknown:

   A whole eternity of love        

     Formed for the God alone:

   And Faith beholds the dying here

   Translated to that happier sphere.

We wish to thank the neighbors, relatives and friends for their kindness shown at
the time of the death of our 
father, especially for the cards and singers and the kind words of the pastor.
