Portland Review
Guy R. Hummel, 88, of 158 Adams St., Ionia, died Jan. 16 at Belding Christian 
Nursing Home.  Mr. Hummel was born on Nov. 4, 1900 in Odessa Township, the son 
of George and Jennie Martin Hummel.  He was marred to Beatrice Fray in 1921.  He 
was a retired farmer and logger.

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice; five sons, Leonard of Florida, Clifford and 
Lyle of Ionia, Don of Lake Odessa, and Harold of Portland; 18 grandchildren; and 
40 great-grandchildren.  Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Services were Jan. 20 at Hull Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Duane Walter of 
Woodbury United Brethren Church officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial 
Gardens.
