Hasting's Reminder-Saturday January 31, 2026

        KAREN LORRAINE HUMMEL

LANSING-Karen Lorraine Hummel, born to Leonard and Veda Hummel, passed away on 
November 26, 2025 at the age of 76, after a brief bout with cancer.

Karen grew up on a farm with her family and graduated from Ionia High School. 
She had a long career as a printer for the State of Michigan in the Department 
of Management Budget. Karen spent a lot of her time working with and supporting 
the homeless in Lansing, Karen was a HUGE collector of her beloved Garfield.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Shirley Morey. She is 
survived by her brothers Leon (Rebecca) and Neil (Deb) Hummel, and her son Bruce 
Klein and her daughter Sue Baker. Karen is also survived by her grandchildren 
Gabriella & Brayden Klein, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
 
As we bid farewell to Karen, we do so with love for the time shared and the 
memories we created. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 
21st from 103 p.m., at Wacousta Community United Methodist Church, 9189 Herbison 
Road, Eagle.
