Born June 7, 1929 in Portland, daughter of the late Frank Davenport & Beatrice Morgridge. Married Lyle Hummel on March 2, 1947 in Portland, MI. They resided in Portland, before moving to Ionia, where they enjoyed 68 years together & raised their family before Lyle died August. 17th, 2015. They specially enjoyed the Holiday family gatherings, camping & traveling with her daughter & son-in-law Dick Hotchkiss. Jean worked for Mary Kay Cosmetics for many years. Also known for her photography. Jean loved God, life and music & playing the Organ. Jean also loved animals. Survived by her children;Sandra (Chester) Hummel of Tennessee, Daniel (Jan) Hummel of Traverse City,Patricia (Richard) Hotchkiss of Sheridan & Steven Hummel of Traverse City. Grandchildren, Belinda (Scott) Ferguson of Grant, Kindra (Jim) Collins of Tennessee, Shawn (Sue) Fletcher, Samantha (Mike) Hanel of Traverse City, Great-Grandchildren, Nicholas (JordAnn) Ferguson, Tyler(Danielle)Ferguson, Alexis Durham, Colton Collins, Liam Hanel & Jameson Hanel. Great great-grandchildren,Sawyer, Brinley, Magdalene Ferguson, Lyle Ferguson, & Rosalee Ferguson, Siblings, Wayne (Nancy) Morgridge of Ionia & Kathleen Morgridge of Bay City. Many nieces & nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband Lyle, Father Frank Davenport & wife Dora, Mother Beatrice Morgridge & husband Leonard, Brother Roger & Ann Davenport & Sister Coleen Kessler, Brother-in-law Simeon Kessler. Funeral services will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday, May 15th at Noon with Pastor Marty Ross officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
