The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, January 21, 1964
Jerry A. Hummel, 81, of route one, Portland, died at Ionia County Memorial 
hospital early Monday morning.  He was a farmer and lifelong resident of 
Sebewa township.  He was a member of Ionia Moose lodge 998.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Swiger of Nashville and Mrs. Maxine 
Stemler of Sunfield; two sons, Lawrence Hummel of Ionia and Merlin of Lyons; 
one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Winn of Lansing; 19 grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mapes-Fisher funeral 
home at Sunfield.  Interment will be at East Sebewa cemetery.
