The Lake Odessa Wave, Friday, September 13, 1912
Reuben Hummel was born in Seneca county, Ohio, December 26, 1863 and died at 
the home of his sister Mrs. Tusing in Lake Odessa September 9, 1912, aged 48 
years, 8 months, 14 days.  He leaves to mourn his loss three brothers, John, 
Peter, and Sidney and two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Tusing and Mrs. Amanda Shupp and 
a host of other relatives and friends.  The funeral was held at the home 
Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Laity and interment was in Lakeside 
cemetery.

We wish hereby to extend our sincere thanks to all the neighbors and friends 
for their many acts of kindness during the sickness and death of our brother, 
Reuben, also for the flowers brought, and to those who sang and to all.
