Marion Beth Hummel, age 80, was received into the arms of her loving savior on
Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.  Marion was born on Oct. 26, 1934, in Detroit,
Michigan, to Mabel and Roy Brightbill.

She moved to the Lake Odessa area in her teens and graduated from Lake Odessa
High School in 1951.  She married Donald E. Hummel later that same year.  Marion
was employed by Keeler Brass Company during the 1960s.  She loved many hobbies
including bowling, golfing, and traveling with the Hamps, playing games and
cards, and was a perfectionist with her needlework, creating many beautiful
afghans and blankets for family and friends.

Her greatest joy was being with her family and rarely missed a chance to attend
birthday parties and other family gatherings.  The other joy in Marion’s life
was her church family of the Living Gospel Church where she served as the church
librarian and wherever else she could.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lois Stevens.  She is
survived by her husband Don; sons, Dave (Joyce) Hummel, Ken (Penny) Hummel of
Lake Odessa; daughter, Lori (LeRoy) Wortley of Fairfax, Virginia; grandchildren
Eric, Matt, John and Royce Hummel, Heather VanValkenberg, Anna Johnson, and Joe
and James Wortley; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Dolores Rogers; and many
nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Marion’s Life will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 11 a.m.
at the Living Gospel Church in Lake Odessa.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 1
from 3-5 p.m. at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa MI  48849. 
Memorial contributions can be made to the Living Gospel Church.
