Hummell of Sebewa Corners, who died suddenly Monday evening in the waiting room of a Portland doctor’s office, were held Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Carson of the M. E. church officiating. Interment was at Lakeside cemetery in Lake Odessa. Mr. Hummell was born in Pennsylvania and came to Ionia county while very young and was a resident of Sebewa most of his life where he was in the sheep shearing business until he became ill. Surviving are two brothers, Jerry of Sebewa and Thomas of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Winn of Lansing and several nieces and nephews, among them Mrs. Maxine Stemler of Sebewa Corners. Pallbearers were Donald Baily, Charles Austin, Lawrence Rolls, Don Benschoter, Melburn Sandborn and Carl Rischau, all neighbors of Mr. Hummell.
