Daily Standard - Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1898

(Miss) Alice R. Humphrey, the 19 years-old daughter of Charles Humphrey, South 
Ionia, died yesterday, after an illness which dates from the time of a fall 
from her wheel some three months ago. The funeral will be attended from the 
Catholic church on Friday morning. The untimely death of this lovely young lady 
is deeply mourned by many friends, for by her cheerful disposition she had 
endeared herself to a wide circle. She was for the two years preceding her last 
illness cashier in the store of T. A. Carten.
