Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 17 Nov 1962

Mrs. Leona L. Humphreys, 72, former Ionia resident, died Friday evening at St.
Lawrence hospital in Lansing where she was a patient one month.  She was born in
Ionia county February 14, 1890, the daughter of Charles and Anna Curtiss Conner,
attended Dexter school in Easton township.  She went to Lansing in October 1961
to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Josephine Benstead.

Mrs. Humphreys was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church and for many years was
employed at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company.  Her husband, Gene, preceded her
in death in 1946.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ward Courter of Saranac, Mrs. Ione Edwards of
Vassar, and Mrs. Josephine Benstead of Lansing.

Rosary will be recited at Myers funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m.  Funeral mass will
be celebrated Monday morning at 9 o’clock at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church
and burial will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
