Sentinel-Std. - Thursday, June 29, 1972

Maude E. Humphreys, 90, formerly of 321 North Dexter died Monday morning at an 
Ionia rest home where she had been a patient 4 1/2 years.

She was a lifelong resident of Ionia born here August 22, 1881, the daughter of 
Charles and Mary Fitch Humphreys. She attended school in Ionia and upon 
graduation went in to the millinery business with Mary Kilmartin. She later 
bought the Kilmartin interest and operated the business until retirement in 
1957.

She was a member of SS Peter and Paul church and its Altar Rosary society, 
charter member of Daughters of Isabella and also belonged to the SS Peter and 
Paul senior citizens club. She was also a life member of the Business and 
Professional Women's club.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Floy O'Dell of Kalamazoo and several nieces and 
nephews in the Ionia area.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS Peter and Paul church with Msgr. 
Edward Jaworowicz officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Parish rosary will be recited Friday at 8 pm at Leddick funeral home.

Daughters of Isabella rosary will be Thursday at 7 p.m.

Family will be at the funeral home Thursday and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
