BASEL HUMPHREYS, Jr.

Died January 22, 2022-age 89
Born October 10, 1932 in Montrose, Colorado.
Son of Basil Sr. & Mary Ann (Rice) Humphreys.
Graduate of Leslie High School, in Leslie, MI.
A devoted member of the Temple Baptist Church in Ionia for much of his life.
Basel spent many hours studying his Bible & praying for his family.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, automobiles, golfing and gardening.
He also loved Music & was a talented singer & guitarist showcasing his gift in 
the church choir for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardis Humphreys, son, Ricky, 
granddaughter, Erica (Humphreys) Ewing and Leah Whitney; grandson, Jonathon 
Humphrey & siblings, Calvin Humphreys and Nancy (David) Austen.
Survived by his wife, Carol (Geisel) Humphreys; children, Rose Huhn, Rebeca 
Whitney, Joel Humphrey, Scott Humphreys , Dan Humphreys, Joy (Steve) Arnold, 
Linda Tarrant, Mike (Renee) Tarrant, Cindy (Bob) Norris, David Tarrant, David 
(Mary) Geivet, Jennifer (Jason) Humrichous, Gwendolyn (Joshua) Wilhite, Julianne 
Geivett, Annamarie (Peter) Edgar; special grand children & great-grandchildren, 
and former wife, faith Sutliff.
Funeral service will be officiated by Mr. Joshua Wilhite at 2 PM, Wednesday, 
February 2, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home, Rich St., Ionia. 
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
Family will receive friends from 1 PM to time of service on Wednesday at the 
Chapel.
