The Ionia Standard, Friday, November 25, 1887
Thomas Humphrey died on Monday morning, 21st inst., at his home just south of 
the river on the Bellevue road.  He was in his 53rd year.  His illness covered 
much of the past year.  Mr. Humphrey was not widely known, but he was a good 
citizen and a well-informed gentleman.  He was buried from the Catholic church 
in this city on Wednesday.
