Mr. Humphreys an employe of the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company for the past 12 years, worked hard all day Saturday and was in fine spirits on Sunday, in apparent good health. About 4 o’clock Monday morning he was taken ill and complained to a daughter, who administered medical aid, but he was summoned an hour following. He was born in Sebewa township and at one time resided at Portland, but most of his life was spent in this city. He had a host of friends and was active in the SS. Peter & Paul church, the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name society. He is survived by five children, Miss Maude Humphreys of Ionia; Mrs. Agnes Schafer of Ionia; John Humphreys of Cedar Springs, Iowa; Eugene Humphreys of Ionia and Mrs. Floy O’dell, Kalamazoo.
