Haven on March 13 as a result of injuries suffered when he fell and broke his hip some time ago. Mr. Hungerford was a resident of Pewamo for a number of years, going there in the spring of 1864 and engaging in business there. He lived there until 1880 taking a very active part in the life of the community after which he moved to Lansing where he stayed for several years, later removing to Oak Park, Illinois where he remained until 1914. Mr. Hungerford returned to Michigan in that year and took up his residence with his daughter, Mrs. Curtis who lived on a farm a few miles north of South Haven where he has lived ever since. Mr. Hungerford’s health has been failing for some time past but his indomitable will kept him on his feet each day trying to keep in touch with things. Monday, March 10 he fell and broke his hip and the resultant suffering was too much for his advanced years.
