Ionia County News, 9 May 1946

Mrs. Edna Gott Hunt was born April 12, 1875, in Easton township, Ionia county.  
Her childhood was spent on the farm where her parents, Frank and Adeline Gott, 
settled in 1880.  After her marriage to Carl J. Hunt, October 31, 1900, she 
moved to Clarksville where her three children were born. They were a son, who 
died in infancy, Walter L. Hunt of Lake City and Mrs. Effie Hanson of Edmore.  
She is also survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Muriel Harvey.

She was an active member of the Congregational church at Clarksville and later 
attended the Church of Christ at Ferris Center.

After the death of her husband in 1924 she returned home to help care for her 
parents in their advanced age.  She suffered a stroke on April 29 and was given 
loving care until she passed away May 1, at the age of 71.

She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Clarksville cemetery.  Mrs. Hunt 
will be long remembered for her devotion to her family and her many kindnesses 
in case of sickness.

Rev. Hervery Sewell of the Ferris Center Church of Christ officiated at both 
services, and Mrs. Paul DeKoning, of East Lansing, a granddaughter of the 
deceased, provided music.
