Funeral at Her Home ------- The family and friends of Mrs. Eugene Hunt were greatly surprised to hear of her sudden illness which ended so soon in her death. Mrs. Hunt was well known by nearly everyone who had spent any amount of time in her vicinity. Having spent so much of her life on the farm with her husband, she was always interested in farming and looked after her renters herself after the husband's death. She was a good manager and a friend to everyone. ---------- OBITUARY Miss Josephine Collingham was born in Ionia County, September 19, 1855, and departed this life Feb. 16, 1923 at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 6 days. She was married to Mr. Eugene Hunt Sept. 10, 1876, he proceeding her to the great beyond four years ago. With her husband, she moved onto the farm which they still own, one mile northwest of Lake Odessa, when it was still an undeveloped tract of land; but with their patient and untiring toll they made a beautiful home and in Nov. 1918 they moved to Lake Odessa for a well earned rest, but only lived here about four months, when the husband was taken away. To this union two girls were born, Mrs. Bertha Hines and Mrs. Lucy Clum, both of this place. Mrs Hunt suffered a stroke on Sunday while preparing dinner and never regained her speech. She was united with the Congregational church about 30 years ago and has ever been an interested worker for her Lord and Master. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, five grand children one sister, two brothers and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at her home on Fifth Avenue Monday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Zuse officiating, assisted by Rev. Mourer.
