The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 7, 1981

Mabel E. Hunter, 92, of 7131 Grand River, Saranac, died Sunday at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Van Wert County, Ohio Oct. 23, 1888, the 
daughter of Peter and Sarah Sprain Marker.  She moved to Ionia County in 1907 
and married Ellis Eugene Hunter in 1911.  He preceded her in death in 1943.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Amanda Cottrell of Ionia; and several 
nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Marker of Lowell, Mrs. Frances Clemens 
of Saranac, Mrs. Wayne Hatodis of Florida, Mrs. Warren Durkee of Ohio, Mr. 
Earl Stauffer of Ohio and Mrs. Eleanor Sage of Saranac.  Also surviving are 
several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Lake Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Allen Thomson officiating.  Burial will be in the Saranac Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Tuesday from 
7 to 8:30 p.m.
