Ionia Sentinel Standard, 9 Feb 1956

John Edward Hunter, 82, died Thursday morning at the Ionia County Memorial
hospital where he had been a patient for nearly four weeks.  Mr. Hunter had
lived for the past 10 years at the home of his step-daughter, Mrs. Lyle Essex at
663 West Washington street.

He was a farmer of the Sunfield area and had lived there all his life until
moving to Ionia.  Mr. Hunter was a life member of the Sunfield F. and A.M. lodge
and a member of the Sunfield Eastern Star.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Bishop of Vermontville; one
step-daughter, Mrs. Lucille Essex and one great-grandson. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Mapes funeral
home in Sunfield with the Rev. Don Carrick officiating.  Burial will be at
Sunfield cemetery.
