The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 13, 1943
Ellis Hunter, 59, died Monday afternoon at his farm home in Boston township 
after a short illness.  He had been subject to frequent heart attacks and 
death was the result of a stroke.  He was born December 8, 1883 in Odessa 
township, the son of Frank and Minnie Hunter.  He had spent his entire life in 
Ionia County.   In 1908 he was married to Mable Marker, who survives him.  
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Lyle Hunter of Lansing and 
Robert Hunter of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Glendora Wright and Mrs. Mae 
Stuart of Clarksville and Mrs. Iva Grieves of Saranac.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris 
funeral home, Saranac.  Rev. G. H. Humphreys will officiate and burial will be 
in Saranac cemetery.
