The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 28, 1939
Mrs. Kate Hunter, 84, sister of Mrs. Mary Kidder, of Pleasant Street, died at 
her home in Saranac at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.  The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Michael Ryan, she was born May 14, 1855 in New York state and came to Cook’s 
Corners with her parents when she was a child.  Mrs. Hunter lived in Saranac 
for about 50 years and was employed at the Stevenson store in Ionia for 
several years.  She was a member of the Saranac Congregational Mite society 
and of the Women’s club.

Besides her sister, Mrs. Hunter is survived by a brother, Edward Ryan of 
Paulding, and a nephew, Harvey Kidder of Ionia.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the  home and burial will 
be in the Saranac cemetery.
