Hunter, who was stricken with paralysis on Saturday morning of last week, died last night at midnight without regaining consciousness. The funeral will be attended from the late home in Saranac Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mr. Hunter was born in the township of Keene and was 57 years of age. He attended the Ionia schools in his boyhood days, and also the Ionia Business college, a prominent educational factor here years ago. Growing to manhood he moved to Saranac where he engaged in the hardware business for 30 years. He was prominent in politics, and rewarded with the appointment as postmaster at Saranac, a position he well filled for a period of 12 years. Mr. Hunter was always prominent in business and politics, honest, honorable and a citizen regarded very highly by the community, popular wherever known. He married Miss Elva Strong, who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. F. D. M. Davis. Mr. Hunter owned one of the time-honored homes in Saranac but has been planning to sell and move into a new and more modern residence. Death, however, overcame that ambition. The day before he was stricken he had visited Ionia, driving here in his automobile. Arriving home that night he was not well and was stricken at 2 o’clock in the morning.
