The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, August 31, 1971
L. G. Hunter, 80, of 49 Parsonage, Saranac, died Monday noon at Butterworth 
hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born in Saranac, September 4, 1890, he was the son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Hunter.  October 21, 1913 he was married in Saranac to 
Nina Bartell who died October 8, 1968.  He was a farmer, also carpenter and at 
one time manager of Mercer Elevator in Saranac.  He was a past member of Odd 
Fellows and Moose lodges.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Albert Kowatch of Morrison lake; two 
grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Hallah Hoskins of 
Saranac.  

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac.  Rev. John Hancock will officiate and interment will be at Saranac 
cemetery.
