She was married to Frank P. Hunter, of Keene, February 21, 1877. Three children were born to this union, Harley and Vine of Saranac, and Jesse of Lansing. She was the daughter of Vine and Parney Welch and the last surviving member of the family of three brothers and one sister. Eva Hunter was converted and united with the M. E. church when about nine years of age. Always living a constant Christian life and she has left many beautiful and consoling messages to her family and friends. She loved her church and church work. She was president of the ladies’ Aid of Keene for many years and also held many other offices. She was a charter member of the Keene Grange. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, three children, four grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors. The chords which bound her to family and friends were severed God’s finger touched her and she rests. Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep, from which none ever wake to weep. The funeral was conducted from the home Friday afternoon, Rev. Charles O. Hayward, officiating, and was laid to rest in Pinkney cemetery in a mass of beautiful flowers.
