The Ionia Daily Standard, Tuesday, April 7, 1891

The funeral of John B. Hutchins, at the Baptist church, was largely attended 
yesterday afternoon—a generous attendance of the older people being 
particularly noticeable.  The family pew was draped by friends, who also 
provided a fine display of flowers.  The sermon by the pastor, Rev. J.J. 
Phelps, was a touching eulogy.  Rev. Alfred Cornell, a life-long friend, 
followed with a brief address.  After the familiar face, whose every line 
depicted peace, was viewed by those present, the remains were conveyed to 
Highland park for interment.

Prof. Chas. A. Hutchins and wife will return to Wisconsin to-night.
