Hutchins died at his home on North Emily street Friday morning at 9 o’clock. Although Mr. Hutchins was of such an age that his death might naturally be expected, and had been feeble for some time, nevertheless the news was a shock to all who knew him. He was born in Onandago, N.Y., in July, 1819 and came to Michigan in 1831. For forty-one years he lived in Ionia and 7 years ago came to Ludington to be with his daughters who were both located here. He was a man of unswerving integrity and upright ness of character, a devoted Christian and, withal, a cultured gentleman; one who made the world richer by having lived in it. A wife and three children, Mrs. Geo. N. Stray and Miss Kate Hutchins, of this city, and Mr. A. W. Hutchins, of Elgin, Ill, live to mourn the loss of husband and father. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. H. F. Tyler, at the family residence, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. – [Daily Mail, Ludington – March 27.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/h/hutchins14119nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
