W.H. Hutton, pastor of the First Baptist church of Sebewa and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Thompson was born in Wells township, Tuscola county, Michigan, July 1st, 1895 and died at her home at the Baptist parsonage in Sebewa, March 10, 1917 at six p.m. of pulmonary tuberculosis after a continuous illness of twenty months. The last few weeks and days of her illness were spent in intense pain and suffering, yet patient as a lamb she awaited the summons from her blessed Savior whom she was continually calling upon for support in the crucial hours. She lived her earlier life in the vicinity of Caro, the place of her birth, until June 24th, 1914 she was united in marriage with Rev. W.H. Hutton and settled at Flint, Mich., where they resided until they moved to Sebewa the 21st of May, 1916 where they lived until her decease. She was a very true and affectionate wife and helpmate as well as a true consistent Christian. Though she has passed on and preceded us she still lives and still loves us with a purer love and will await our coming. Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves to mourn their loss a mother, Mrs. Eliza Thompson of Wells, Mich., and a host of warm friends and distant relatives. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Caro, Mich., Rev. Fox, pastor of the Baptist church at Caro officiated, and interment was made in the Caro cemetery.
