          MRS. JOSEPHINE HYATT PASSES AWAY
   Mrs. Josephine Marie Hyatt, 85, passed away Monday morning at the Brink Rest Home
at Ionia.  She had recently been released from the Ionia hospital and before being 
transferred to Ionia had been a patient at Sunset Acres near Hastings.
   A native of Langston, in Montcalm county she and her family had been residents
here for fifty years or more, coming here from Lakeview to operate the former Burke 
Hotel and a livery stable.
   Mrs. Hyatt was a member of St. Edwards church, Altar Society and honorary member
of the Merry Social Club.  Mr. Hyatt passed away twenty or more years ago.
   Surviving are three grandchildren, Ronald Hyatt and Mrs. Richard (Mary Jo) Weber
of Grand Rapids and James Ward of South Laguna, Calif.;  a sister Mrs. Vena Parker 
of Greenville and eleven great grandchildren.
   Mrs. Hyatt reposes at Pickens Funeral Chapel where the Rosary was recited at 7:30
on Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards 
church with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
