For several months he and his wife have lived with their only son Edward. While living in Lake Odessa he was familiarly seen driving the sprinkling wagon and was always pleasant and congenial with his townspeople, and respected by all. A. Louis Hyatt was born in Concord, Michigan on November 10, 1848. He was one of a family of eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hyatt, all of whom have preceded him to the great beyond save a brother, William, who still resides in Calhoun county. On August 16, 1867 he was married to Miss Alzina Ackerman of Clarendon, Mich. There they began housekeeping and lived until 1890 when they moved to Lake View. In 1912 they left Lake View and came to Lake Odessa where they have since resided. To Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt was born one son Edward, with whom because of the failing health of Mr. Hyatt, they have lived for the past few months. Beside the brother and son names above, Mr. Hyatt is survived by his devoted wife, one grandson, Ralph; one granddaughter Rachel Ward, and one great-grandson, Ronald Hyatt, who very deeply mourn his loss. Mr. Hyatt was a man of sterling worth and jovial disposition. He was honorable and kind in all his relationships. For the past few weeks he has been a very great sufferer, and yet has evidenced wonderful fortitude and patience. The end came on Sunday morning, and was to him a sweet release. The funeral was held at the home of the son on Tuesday afternoon, at which the Rev. O. F. Bulman officiated. Interment was made in Lake Side cemetery.
