Mrs. Henry Hyland expired Sunday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Soughders, on the west side, following less than a week’s illness from bronchitis, and funeral services were attended from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Wm. W. Slee officiated. Interment took place on the family lot in Portland cemetery. Eaton, Lorraine county, O., was the birthplace of the deceased and the date was August 16th, 1832. She came to Portland in 1864 and since that time has resided continuously in or near the village. Since the death of her husband 22 years ago Mrs. Hyland has made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Soughders, where death took place. The four surviving children are Mrs. Wm. Keefer, Mrs. Chas. Hyland, Mrs. Sidney Osman and Mrs. John Soughders, all of this place. The five living brothers are Charles Sayers, of Ionia, Daniel, William, George and John Sayers, all of Portland. Deceased is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
