Portland Review, 2 Nov 1967

James E.  Hyland, 54, of R. 2, died suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon.  Mr.
Hyland was a World War II veteran.  At the time of his death he was employed at
Portland Manufacturing Co.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes; four sons, James R., Jack E., John M. and
Joseph S.; two daughters, Toin Rae and Tobi Lea, all of Portland; his father
Ward Hyland of Muir; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Guthrie of Portland; Mrs. Esther
Sutherland of Grand Rapids; and three brothers, Vivian and Wayne of Portland and
Charles D. of Ionia.

Funeral services were held from the Neller Funeral Home Wednesday.  Graveside
military services were held at the Portland Cemetery.
