Wave, Wed. Dec. 21, 1983 LAKE ODESSA- Leon E. Hynes, 89, of 777 Jordan Lake Ave., Lake Odessa, died Sunday afternoon at Provincial House, Hastings. Born Oct. 24, 1894, he was the son of Edward and Ursula Wheeler Hynes. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1911. He was married to Mary Reisinger, Nov. 18, 1913, she died in July 1961. He married Alice Bayles Kellar, May 15, 1970, she survives. A former Woodland businessman, he operated a hardware and auto repair shop until his retirement in 1961. He served as Woodland Township clerk, was a charter member of Woodland Lions Club, was a member of the Woodland Masonic Lodge and Knights of Pythias. He was a past member of the Woodland Fire Department and attended the Woodland United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Kathryn) Potter and Mrs. Cecil (Gladys) Bennett, both of Woodland; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, with the Rev. George Speas officiating. Burial was in Woodland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established for the Lake Odessa Ambulance.
