She was born in Owosso, Aug. 17, 1887 and was married to Dr. Harry L. Imus in Mason in 1914. They moved to Ionia in 1924 where they resided until Dr. Imus retired from the Ionia State Hospital staff in 1950. They purchased their cottage on Long Lake in 1942 and moved here permanently in 1950, spending the winter months in Brandenton, Fla. Mrs. Imus was a member of the First Methodist church and Queen Esther Order of Eastern Star, and was a former member of the White Shrine. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Harry L. Imus; a son, Dr. Harry A. Imus of Pensacola, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs. Vhelma Hodges of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mrs. Glenna Clark of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Celestine Wright of Wayne, and Billie Lyon of Cheboygan; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, two brothers, Leonard Boerem of Westwood, Calif., and Col. R.D. Boerem of Ontario, Calif. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church in Ionia at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Harold A. Joyne officiating. Burial was at Balcom cemetery, Ionia. Services were given at the cemetery by the Eastern Stars and Rev. Harold A. Joyne. Those attending the funeral from out of town, outside of the immediate family, were from Ann Arbor, Clarksville, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Greenville, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Lake Odessa, Lowell, Plainwell, Portland and Remus. Dr. Henry Inus, is at sea with the U.S. Navy, Mrs. Glenna Clark from Florida and Mrs. Celestine Wright of Brazil flew by Jet to attend their mother’s funeral. Mrs. Imus had been ill for some time, but did not become seriously ill till she was taken to the hospital.
