Her mother died when she was a small child, and her father who was a sailor by occupation, left her in the care of an uncle while away on a voyage. He left New York Sept. 1818 and his loved ones never heard from him again. On Feb. 7, 1828, Edmund Ingalls and Miss Sarah Dixon were married in Roxbury, Conn., six children came to bless this union, two of whom died in infancy. In June 1844 Edmund Ingalls with wife and family came to the township of Otisco and settled on the farm where she lived and died. Two children survive her, Mrs. Amisa Hull of Smyrna and Frank Ingalls of Otisco, he being the youngest lived with her until her death. She has been in declining health for nearly six months and quietly passed away on Monday, April 11, 1904, aged 94 years, 2 months and 20 days. She experienced religion at the age of 16 and has always lived a devoted and consistent member of the Baptist church. The whole life example of Mrs. Ingalls has been one of kindness among her friends and neighbors, and by her death her children lose a loving devoted mother. Funeral service was held Wednesday.
