Every one, more especially the older residents of the city, knew her and honored her, for her sterling worth of character. Though well advanced in years, her interest in the welfare of the city, of which she had so long been a resident, was still keen. Her illness was a brief one, lasting only a few days. Mrs. Irish was born Feb. 13, 1912 at Shelburn, Vermont. In 1833 she was married to David Irish, and in 1836 they moved to Michigan, remaining for a time in Detroit, and afterwards in Lyons, but finally settling in Ionia. She leaves five children: Mrs. L. F. Mills, Mrs. C. C. Eyster and Miss Laura Irish of this city; Edward L. Irish, of Lansing, and Henry D. Irish, of Grand Haven. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the residence, East Main street, at one o’clock. On account of the illness of Mrs. C. C. Eyster, only relatives and immediate friends will attend.
