Irish, at one time a resident of Pewamo, during his younger years, were held from the Methodist church in that village last Friday afternoon, Rev. Mather, pastor, reading the funeral discourse. Interment was made in the family lot in Westside cemetery. The death of Mr. Irish came suddenly while on a business trip to Chicago. For the past year or more he has been making his home with relatives in the eastern part of the state, but during the month of July left for Chicago, where he was staying at the time of his demise. The remains were shipped to Pewamo, arriving there last Thursday, and were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Somers, old time friends of the family, to await interment the following afternoon. Frederick L. Irish was born at Carson City on July 16, 1869, and passed from this life at Chicago, Ill., September 25, 1923. He was 54 years, 2 months and 9 days of age at the time of his death. Shortly after his birth his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Welcome Irish, removed to Pewamo from Carson City, which village remained the family home until their death there a number of years ago. Here the subject of this sketch received his high school education. When but a young man he went out into the western country and up until a little over a year ago made that part of the nation his home. He had been in rather poor health most of the time since his return and only for his determination was he able to go about his regular avocations. His death was not unexpected as he had been failing rapidly during the months just previous to his departure for Chicago. He is survived by three brothers, Claud Irish, of Owosso, William S. Irish, and Glen Irish, Pontiac, and a sister, Mrs. Harry P. Snyder, Ovid.
