He was born in Belding on May 25, 1922, the son of Leonard and Rena Tower Irish.Buster was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army from 1943 t 1946 in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, where he received two bronze battle stars. He was given the purple Heart Medal for injuries received in Cesterna, Italy in 1944. He was a life member of the Cleveland-Wolverton V.F.W.Post #3794 Greenville, serving as Past Commander.He also was a life member of the DAV. He enjoyed camping and hunting and was retried after many years of working the construction industry. He was preceded din death by his wife Dorothy in 1983, his son Randy in 1996, son-in-law Michael Devereaux in 2010, and his brother and sisters, Raymond Irish, Elvyn Geisen, Helen Olmsted and Colleen Sailor. He was married to the former Margaret Rempp in Carson City on June 21, 1986. She survives along with their children, Ronald "Joe" and Cheryl Irish of Ionia, Peggy Devereauz of Sheridan, Roger Rempp of Carson City, Rodney and Janet Horricks of Belding, E.J. and Elizabeth Horricks, Daniel and Debie Horricks, Rose Mary and Richard Lehner, all of Carson City, and Joe and Deb VanAlstine of Detroit; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters Vera Mann of Florida and Jen Petersen of Holland; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Byron Rempp of Crystal, Thomas and Sheila Rempp of Alma, Mary Louies Edlin, Lillian and Eldon Shattuck and Shirley Fisher, all of Carson City; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 1 p. Wednesday, Dec.22, 1010 from the Hurst Funeral Home with Pastor Valerie Reynolds and Charles Malson officiating. Military Honors provided by the VFW Post #3794. Visitation will be 6 tp 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the VFW Post #3794 of Greenville.
