Lorena was born June 25, 1909 to Anthony and Anna Pung in Portland, Mich. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Lorena married Clarence Irrer in June, 1930 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She was also predeceased by son, Clarence Jr.; daughter, Lorraine Woods; son-in-law Michael Carmody, grandchildren Timothy Irrer and wife Lila and Karl Noren, brothers Leon and Louis Pung and sister Marion Kolp. Surviving are daughters Joanne Grow, Lansing, Shirley (Carl) Noren, Portland, Janice Carmody, Rockford, Linda (Larry) Kupferschmid, Palisades, N.Y., Mary (Jim) Collar-Ditta, Holland; sons Duane Irrer, Portland, David (Chris) Irrer, Detroit, daughter-in-law Esther Irrer, Portland; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister Eloise Patrick, Portland, several nieces and nephews. Lorena loved God, her family, and playing cards of every kind. She was especially close to her grandchildren and they will miss her loving, giving and kind ways. A special thank you to the staff at Heartland Healthcare Center in Ionia for their compassionate care. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 20 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland, with Fr. Larry King, Pastor, presiding. The Rite of Committal followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
