Shelby Irvin, 59, of 1081 Washington Boulevard, Lake Odessa, died Monday at 
Provincial House Hastings, where he had been a patient since December 1985.

Born May 1, 1928, in Caywood, Ky., he was the son of Shelby and Pheby Howard 
Irvin. He attended schools in Caywood and was employed for 20 years as a miner 
in Kentuck.

He was married to Linda Shade in 1972 in Lake Odessa; she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sally, at home; two sons, Roger and Mike Irvin, 
both of Peru, Ind.; three grandchildren; two brothers, John and Grand Irvin of 
Harlan, Ky.; three sisters, Bertha Brewer of Tennessee, Annie Brewer of 
Kentucky, and Rachel White of Caywood, Ky.; and his mother in law, Mildred 
Shade of Lake Odessa.

A sister, Bea Cupps, preceded him in death Dec. 1, 1966.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, lake 
Odessa, the Rev. Larry Pike officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
