Sudden Death

Of Mrs. Ives, Visiting Aunt of Mrs. F.M. Douglass.

Mrs. Mary D. Ives died at the home of her niece, Mrs. F.M. Douglass, at 9:30
Tuesday evening.  Mrs. Ives came here about three weeks ago from her home in
Gregory, Mich., to spend a few weeks with Mrs. Douglass.  She has been in usual
health, and was down town yesterday morning.  She was stricken in Bedford’s
jewelry store, about 10:30 a.m., and was taken home in a carriage.  The doctor
pronounced it apoplexy.  Her age was 79, and she was a widow without children.

Brief service of prayer was held at the house at 2:30 this afternoon.  Remains,
accompanied by Mrs. Douglass and Mrs. Obert, were taken on the 3:40 p.m. train,
destined for Gregory, where funeral will be held.  Mrs. Obert is a sister of
decedent, who arrived here from Durand this morning.
