Jack, 51, died suddenly Christmas night at the home of his father- in-law, William Thomas, three miles south of Ionia on M-66, where he and his family had gone for Christmas. Although Mr. Jack had not been well for about a year, he was not seriously ill, and there was nothing to indicate his death. Hemorrhage was given as the cause. He was taken ill late Thursday and his death following about the time that a physician arrived. Mr. Jack was born November 19, 1896, in Ionia, the son of Charles B. and Elizabeth Jack. He was associated for 25 years in business with his father. In 1924 he was married to Miss Mable Thomas. He was a member of Co. E, 32nd regiment, Michigan National Guard when it left Ionia for Grayling in 1915, and received his discharge from that unit. He was a member of the American Legion, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Ionia Church of Christ. Surviving him are his wife, Mable; two sons, Charles, Jr., and Gordon; two sisters, Mrs. Ida McQuillan of Ionia and Mrs. Winifred Mathis of Cuba, Mo., and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Jack, of Ionia. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral home, with interment in Balcom cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Davis will conduct the rites.
