Portland Observer – Wednesday, 25 October 1899
The Observer learns from his daughter, Mrs. W. W. French, that her father, 
Robert Jack, formerly a farmer of Danby township, died at her home in 
Richmond, Va., on the 9th inst.  Heart trouble, from which he had been a great 
sufferer for six months, was the cause of his death.  Mr. Jack and family 
went  South, several years ago and the many friends of the family will be 
surprised and pained to hear of his death.  He was in the 69th year of his 
age.  He was buried in Richmond.
