Leaves Two Sons and a Daughter Mrs. Mary Jane Jackson, one of our oldest if not the oldest woman around here, passed away Monday at her home here. She has been cared for many years by a son Comfort Jackson and during her last illness Mrs. Milton Howard has assisted in her care. Mrs. Jackson was a quiet Christian woman and has lived a long life of Christian example. her son Comfort left here Thursday to reside with his daughter in Muskegon and the daughter will remain with Mrs. Howard for the present. Obituary Jane Whitelaw, daughter of Alexander and Nancy Whitelaw, was born October 21, 1837, at Whitby, Can., and departed this life at her home in Lake Odessa, Mich., Feb. 28, 1932, at the age of 94 years, four months and seven days. She was the second daughter of a family of eight children, all of them preceding her in death. She was married to David Jackson, March 1, 1857. They lived together 67 years, he departed this life eight years ago March 22. They came to Lake Odessa in July 1871, and have resided in Odessa township most of the time since. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Henry A. who died in 1929; William of Grand Rapids; Mary Jane at home, and Comfort W., who has so faithfully cared for his mother and sister in their old age. She with her husband embraced religion and joined the Wesleyan Methodist church of West Sebewa many years ago and was faithful all through the years. She leaves to mourn their loss two sons, one daughter, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Howard, a neighbor on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. George J. Start preached and Mrs. G. J. Start, Mrs. T. M. Martindale and Mrs. L.T. Gilson furnished the music. Burial was at Lakeside.
