E. Knapp Died Friday Mrs. Keziah Dilley Jackson, 92, died at the home of her son, James, near Sunfield, early Friday morning after an illness of about two months. “Aunt Kit,” as she was called by everyone, was a sister of the late Josiah Dilley, of Portland. She was born in Sohm, England, and came to this country with her parents when 13 years of age. Arriving in New York, they settled in Elmira. After four years there they moved to a farm near Portland. In 1858 they moved to Sunfield. In March, 1859, she was married to Charles Jackson, who passed away in 1907. “Aunt Kit” was very active until about two months ago. She was always up with the family, never taking a nap during the day, and always assisting with the household duties of the farm. She was an active member of the Methodist church for many years. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. L. E. Knapp, of Sebewa, and Mrs. Mercy Austin, of Hoytville, and the son with whom she lived. A foster daughter Mrs. Mary Nichols, of Lake Odessa, also survives. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Prosser of Mulliken. Burial was made in the Welch cemetery. The beautiful floral offerings banking the casket at the funeral indicated the high esteem in which Mrs. Jackson was held in the community where she resided so many years.
