Her son, George W. Jackson (Linda White),and daughter, Dorothy (David) Stremlow, all of Traverse City, were at her side when she passed away. Nora was born October 25, 1915 in Portland. After graduating from high school, she endeavored to begin her training at the Moody Bible Institute. Her dream of becoming a missionary was not to be realized. Due to hardship and loss of precious family members she was needed at home. Her kind compassionate simple life, missioned to young children who lost their mother way too soon in life. She consoled tired children in her rocker, singing the “Ten little Indians” song. Shared her love of God, meeting others needs were more important than her own. She enjoyed flowers, especially pansies with their smiling faces, nature, mushroom hunting and playing cards. Sharing with her immediate family and members who became to her as family. Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. Klein and Maude E. Bradley; and husband, Claude W. Jackson, who passed away in 1972. She is surviving by son, George Jackson (Linda White), and daughter, Dorothy (David) Stremlow; grandchildren, Chris, B.J. and Shane Jackson, Karen Jackson Snyder is her former daughter-in-law, Danny, Chris and Darlene White, Jennifer (Scott) Smith, David Stremlow III (Rose LaPlante), Maggie, Amanda and Jacob Stremlow; and 18 great-grandchildren. A simple kind woman is who our mother was and remains. Yet her life on selfless giving and caring was an accomplished mission in her life. She met her richly deserved eternal life with her trademark simple smile and glory on her face. “Her memories have been restored.” A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall, Veternas Drive, Traverse City. A memory donation can be made to Grand Traverse Pavilions, Grand Traverse Commission on Aging Endowment Fund, House of Hope, or Alzheimer’s Association.
