The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, January 11, 1961

Funeral for Bernie W. Jackson, 80, who died Saturday morning, was held at 
Portland Monday afternoon.  The Rev. Robert S. Treat officiated and interment 
was at Portland cemetery.

Bearers were Wallace H. Jackson, Harold M. Jackson, K. J. Puffer, George 
Middlebrook, Harry Peck and Donald Darken.

Out of town relatives included Mr. and Mrs. Wallace H. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. 
John Rademacher, and Mrs. Grace Boynton of Ionia, Mr. and Mrs. George 
Middlebrook, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peck, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Darken, Suzanne 
Darken, Sally Darken and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Elzinga of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. 
K. J. Puffer of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Jackson and Jane Jackson of 
Paris, Tenn., Henry Elzinga and Marvin Elzinga and Marvin Elzinga of 
Ellsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Raymor of Charlevoix, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Elzinga 
of Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Elzinga of Belding, Mr. and Mrs. John Steffins, 
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bettinghouse, Mrs. Margaret Steffins and Mrs. Dorothy 
Jordan of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bettinghouse and Mr. and Mrs. Joe 
Bettinghouse of Orleans; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Elzinga of Mancelona, and Mrs. 
John Dinkeloo of Birmingham.
