Ionia Shoppers Guide/Hastings Reminder - Sept. 17, 2011


HASTINGS, MI – June Elizabeth Jackson age 85, of Hastings, formerly of 
Clarksville, passed away September 12, 2011 in Hastings.

She was born June 1, 1926 in Ionia the daughter of Amber Stanley and Florence 
(Dadd) Brooks. She graduated from Saranac High School. 

June married Bud Jackson December 25, 1944 in Saranac. He preceded her in death 
in 1983.

She was the postmaster of Smyrna and Eagle Post Offices and a member of the Red 
Hat Society.

June is survived by her children, Robert L. Jackson of Grand Rapids, Stanley A. 
(Inge) Jackson of Kentucky, Martha A (Dale) Smith of Lake Odessa, Ross J. 
(Cheryl) Jackson of Vermontville, Dawn C. (Mike) Thole of Clarksville, Alan J 
Jackson of Clarksville and Mary B. (Steve) McHugh of Arizona; sister-in-law, 
Carol Brooks of Saranac and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great 
great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ivan; and two 
children, Cheryl and Gene. 

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 15, 211 at Clarksville Bible 
Church with Pastor Tim Batemen officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery.

Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may make a 
memorial contribution in June’s name to Clarksville Bible Church. Online
