Mr. Jackson was born in Odessa township May 2, 1834 the son of Erastus and Elizabeth Jackson. He was married to Lila Burgess of Lake Odessa September 30, 1928 and had lived in Ionia since. Previous to his retirement in 1949 from the State hospital he had been employed for nine years by Grinnell Brothers of Grand Rapids and five years by the Ionia County Road Commission Survivors are, his wife, Lila; one son, Bernard, of Muskegon, one daughter, Mrs. Velma Hamp of Grand Rapids, one brother, Roy, of Lake Odessa, and three sisters, Mrs. Etta Knapp of Lansing, Mrs. Elizabeth Bachelder of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Alice Gilliland of Lake Odessa. Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock at Boynton funeral home. The Rev. Heath Goodwin will officiate and internment will be at Balcom cemetery.
