Augustus W. Jackson, 58, died early Sunday morning from a heart attack due to 
shock when he received a message from the war department this his son Harold was 
missing in action in the Southwest Pacific area.  He was a retired farmer living 
near Lake Odessa.  In 1907 he was married to Miss Lizzie Kauffman of Campbell 
township where they had lived until seven years ago, when they moved to Lake 
Odessa.

He is survived by his wife and nine children: Homer of Lake Odessa,  Carl of 
Clarksville, Mrs. Rita Archer of Pontiac, Mrs. Bertha Leak of Lake Odessa, Miss 
Grace Jackson of Grand Rapids, Miss Janet Jackson of Muskegon, and the Misses 
Esta, Marie and Adeline at home; 12 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Hester 
Tucker of Saranac, Mrs. Mattie Mutchler and Mrs. Lottie Hefflebower and Mrs. 
Florence Stahl of Clarksvillle; three brothers, Joe of Lake Odessa and Bert and 
George of Clarksville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon  at 2 o clock at the Central 
Methodist church.  Burial will be in  Clarksville cemetery.
